Benjamin's Photography

About

Recently finishing up senior year at Clark University, I gained an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Studio Art cum laude. Photography is not offered as a major here, but I have used Studio Art to gain relationships with photography professors and focus my classes in photo-work. Making sure I educate myself on greats like Margaret Bourke-White, Lewis Hine, and Paul Strand, documentary and street photography hold my attention while learning. Today, I find myself ranging from portraiture to experimental while shooting. I enjoy editing photos in my apartment on my laptop, but the darkroom allows me to really interact with light.

Aside from photography, I work in behavioral health services. I like to say that I grew up in a ‘psychology household’ as my parents are both very interested in the mind and human behavior. Today, I find myself studying research around meditation, mindfulness, autism spectrum disorder, trauma, and psychedelic therapies. Breaking down social relationships bleeds into the way I am able to effectively work with my clients, getting all of my models to smile with their teeth 🙂
